I read over at the NY Times (via Drudge) that Al Franken is contemplating a U.S. Senate run.
I believe that politically-inspired comedians take themselves too seriously (certainly more seriously than the average voter). Accordingly, the quality that makes them so “charming” to a live, studio audience of people (who get their knowledge of current events from late night talk shows) would whither and fade under the glare of political krieg lights.
So, I think Franken is kidding himself (pun intended) if he thinks he’s cut out for elected office. I think the same thing applies to “Man of the Year” inspiration Jon Stewart.
